Have you ever gone into a movie theater at that specific moment when the house lights have been dimmed but the movie hasn’t started. It is pitch black and you can’t even see where the empty seats are. You pull out your phone and turn on the flashlight feature and boom…there is light. You can find your way around. That’s what the Bible tells us to do…not specifically in a movie theater, but in life. In 2 Corinthians 4:6 says For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
Sadly, we live in a world where darkness seems to grow every day. We live in a world where people get injured/killed in school shootings, where people get trafficked for evil purposes, and where violence runs rampant all around us. But we cannot allow the evil darkness of this world to overtake us. With Christ in our hearts, we have a light inside of us and we are supposed to shine bright for others to see. In Matthew 5:15, Jesus tells us “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” So, its time to be a LIGHTBEARER! Let’s let our light beam bright for all to see.
